Tyler Mazereeuw
With a passion for sponsorship marketing and more than 15 years of diverse industry experience from Film, Fashion, Figure Skating and Music, to Motorsports, Football, Soccer and Hockey, Tyler has forged countless partnerships between Canada’s biggest properties and brands across the sport and entertainment landscape. Considered a thought-leader in the industry, Tyler was recognized in 2015 as one of Canada’s ‘Top 5 under 40’ in Sports Business. Tyler served as the National Chairman of the Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada from 2015-2017 and is still actively involved as a long-time SMCC Board Member, Speaker, Judge and Chair of the SMCC Activate Mentorship program, which he founded in 2016 designed to help foster the next generation of industry talent. He routinely speaks at conferences and other industry events and is always looking for opportunities to share his perspective and compelling thoughts on the unique world of sponsorship marketing.
In his current role as Vice President, Corporate Partnerships the Canadian Football League, Tyler oversees the commercial strategy including Sponsorship and Licensing for the League and Iconic Grey Cup. Since joining the League in January 2011, he’s crafted a number of new strategic partnerships including Shaw, Draft Kings, Canadian Pacific, Sun Life Financial, Lowe’s, AGF, Canadian Tire (Mark’s), Nestle, UAP NAPA, Cisco, Dairy Queen, Great Western Brewing Company, Uniselect, Dr. Oetker, KalTire, Kubota, Post Foods, Whirlpool, State Farm, Kraft, Dr. Oetker, and Canada Post. Prior to joining the CFL, Tyler worked as the Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships for IMG Canada. There he cultivated partnerships across a vast array of properties with tier-1 companies like Audi, CIBC, Ford, Kraft, Molson Coors, Samsung, and Visa. He represented a diverse mix of properties including FIFA, Red Bull, Toronto Fashion Week, Stars on Ice, and the Canadian Soccer Association; and such high-profile athletes as Mike Weir, Steve Nash, and Alexander Ovechkin.
Tyler’s career portfolio also includes Molson Sports and Entertainment, where he created and sold integrated partnerships for a number of top properties including Molson Indy Toronto/Vancouver, Bell Making the Cut, National Lacrosse League and Molson Canadian Snow Jam; RBC Financial Group; The Toronto International Film Festival; and Arts & Communications on the Cirque du Soleil business.
